Dragonflies Draw Flame

"The first great rock record of 2006 has arrived" - The Fly

"Everything about ‘Harboured Safe’ sounds pitch perfect in both tone and character" 5/5 - Big Cheese

Dragonflies Draw Flame are a 5-piece Alt Rock band from Derby/Nottingham who fuse indie rock with elements of post-rock, emo and folk to create something beautiful, interesting and accessible. Influences come from a variety of bands and artists; including Mogwai, Death Cab for Cutie, Bjork, The Weakerthans, Idlewild, Sonic Youth, Kate Rusby, Mono, The Appleseed Cast and Gemma Hayes. 'Harboured Safe' is the band's first release for Stressed Records; it flirts with several genres but is held together by a running lyrical theme of holding onto the past. The band recorded the album at Truck Studios, Oxford, which is better known for the Truck Festival.

Their lives shows around the Midlands has seen them support the likes of Reuben, Martin Grech, Million Dead and Jet Plane Landing to name but some. Steve Lamacq described their previous EP as 'a CD that he kept going back to' on his Radio 1 show.

In summer 2006, Huw Stephens invited Dragonflies Draw Flame Maida Vale to record a live session.

Harboured Safe is now out in Japan.
